Childe - 'Two Thirds'

As he takes on an unconventional take on pop music, Childe layers down the complicated emotions of grief through a nostalgic production throughout 'Two Thirds'.

Following on from his debut single 'Bad Ideas' and the dark electro of 'Just Me', Childe delves into a soulful, meditative approach splashed with electronic beats as he understands the complex feelings towards his father.

With raw lyricism combined with sonic soundscapes; Childe takes on Frank Ocean and Bon Iver to create a route of escapism. Speaking about the track, he said: "‘Two Thirds’ is a song I tried to write for ages. It’s about going into reverse. It’s quite nostalgic grief, so there's comfort in it. I started it in my bedroom, so there are a bunch of distorted vocals in there recorded on a 58. Then we recorded it in LA in January just before COVID stopped the world. We wanted the song to grow the whole way through, so by the end, it’s totally massive-sirens and all.

From growing up in a rural town in England to studying theatre at BRIT school, Childe has gone from supporting King Princess to now becoming a one to watch for his quirky music.
