Jack Hawitt, London-based artist has caused whirlwinds in the music scene already and I don’t think it’s the last time we are going to hear from him.

The promising singer, who featured in the song ‘Without You’ by Embody has already reached 10 million streams on Spotify, had support from BBC Introducing and original solo debut ‘Grow’ was released in February 2019.
Luckily, I had the chance to ask a couple of questions about his career, LGBTQ+ representation and what we can expect from him in the future.
How would you describe your journey was with The Voice and what has it been like since appearing on it?
The Voice was really fun, the process up until the blind audition was great, I got to work with some great vocal coaches and rehearsals with the amazing band we're really exciting! It was great exposure when it was aired!
What inspired you to get into the music industry and who were your inspirations whilst growing up?
My main inspiration from being a kid was Michael Jackson and I'm a 90's kid, so I grew up in a great era! I loved all the pop bands, Steps, Atomic Kitten, Sugababes etc but it was MJ who really inspired me to want to perform!
As part of the LGBTQ+ community, do you believe there is enough representation of the community in the music industry and if so, do you think things are changing?
I think we have great openly gay Artists in the music industry right now and maybe more so than ever. We also have other Artists who really champion the LGBTQ community like Lady Gaga. I think it's really important to show the younger generation that it is 100% ok to be your true self.

What has the reaction been like since you released your first single “Grow”?
The reaction to Grow was really special. It was my first original solo release so to get feedback that people are enjoying it is the best feeling!
Since your latest cover of ‘Into you’ featured on this year Love Island – are you surprised by it and what has the reaction been like?
I was genuinely so shocked at the whole thing! I knew it was going to be used but I honestly thought it would be a 20 second clip and everyone would be talking over it and it would be barely Shazam-able! Hence why I didn't bother releasing it. So, when I saw they had used the whole song, and nobody was talking over it I was like OOOPS! I should have released it! I was kicking myself actually because I feel like I missed a big opportunity. But the response was really great and hearing people love it is a real boost of confidence and makes the fire burn even stronger.
Finally, what can we expect from you in the coming years?
Expect a lot more music from me. I have more songs in the pipeline for 2019 and I'm doing my first headline show back in my hometown, Barrow in Furness, on 25th October.
