Rising Irish newcomer Kynsy is floating with her new single 'Happiness isn't a Fixed State' that stomps through a young view on a breakup.
Following the release of her debut single 'Cold Blue Light', the 23-year-old rising star formerly known as Ciara Lindsey, tugs through shimmy guitar riffs and concise lyricism that balance between fantasy and reality of a post-modern breakup.
“It’s a tug of war between the positive and negative thought processes that occur when a relationship ends", explains Kynsy. It's about accepting the fact that sometimes you have to laugh the pain away or look at negativity head-on in order to feel positive emotions and have positive thoughts again."
Alongside her dark indie-swagger, she accompanies her latest track with a styled self-directed video, directed by Tim Sherwood. Talking about the video, she continued: "I wanted to try and create the same sort of balance of ideas, it needed to be fun and playful but with moments of emotional vulnerability in there too, a sort of ying and yang of simple fun against complex emotions.”
As she continues to construct her own world under her fingertips, Kynsy pitch-perfect melodies and bitter realistic lyrics, is leading her the way.
