The 25-year-old singer has bought back the 90s to your front door and gives us an insight into his forthcoming album.
The alt-pop song is accompanied by a music video which was created in the artists home throughout quarantine.
He described the album to Rolling Stones as his "most commercial sounding" album since his 2015 debut 'Ratchet'.
“I wrote ‘On My Own’ last summer after a breakup as a way to remind myself that while it sucked to lose someone I was getting used to, at least I’m an introvert,” Shamir told Rolling Stone.
“But considering the pandemic, it’s also morphed into an accidental quarantine anthem, especially for the people who live alone like me.”
The music video which is out now is mixed of shots in various locations around Shamir's house and produced by Kyle Pulley.
'On My Own', will feature on Shamir's upcoming album, which will be released this fall.
A release date and title have yet to be announced but with this as a teaser, it's no wonder we are excited about the full project.
