Sister Lucy - 'Big Kid'

London-based Sister Lucy returns with the second single from her upcoming EP Big Girl Pants, titled ‘Big Kid’.

Abi Sinclair, aka Sister Lucy, delivers striking lyrical imagery of growing up and looking back in ‘Big Kid’. Its musical elements mirror this air of nostalgia and reminiscence - fuzzy guitars layer around her airy vocals to create nostalgic grunge feel with a modern twist. The single maintains the indie-rock sound of her first single, ‘Dream’ but is more playful with its arrangements. The song’s mantra, “I wanna go wherever you are”, possesses a child-like innocence that hits just as deep nonetheless.

Speaking on the upcoming EP, Sinclair elaborates: “The EP was written and recorded last summer in a flat in Elephant and Castle at a time of self-reflection. It explores themes of growth, escapism and Womanhood. The sound sits somewhere in the Indie/Rock/Country/Grunge world, similar to artists such as Soccer Mommy, Phoebe Bridgers, Big Thief, and PJ Harvey.”

With self-directed visuals to accompany the single, catch Sister Lucy on the 10th of November, headlining at the Shacklewell Armson to celebrate the release of the EP.
