Past years we have seen the likes of Dua Lipa breaking the charts, Billie Eilish coming out of nowhere and Ariana Grande gracing world tours.


But it’s now time for the rising stars to grace our stages.


You might have already heard of them before or not, but these female stars are the ones to watch this year so let’s get stuck in.


Celeste


Winner of the Brits rising star award, she has already made a name for herself within the music industry with her soulful jazz voice.



The American-born British singer-songwriter who now lives in Brighton has become a fan favourite with her moving single ‘Strange’ to bringing her powerhouse vocals in ‘Stop the Flame’, Celeste knows how to structure a hit.


Fans who enjoy Jorja Smith and Daniel Caesar will definitely be playing the play button for this special artist.


Lily Moore


Ex busker and daughter of Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore, the Brighton-born singer has raised to fame through her righteous soulful voice.


From supporting the big boys George Ezra, Vance Joy and James Bay to then embarking her own tours, Lily has become someone we’ll see in the future with sell out headline tours to embracing classed festivals.


If you enjoy listening to Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, then you will be listening to her sooner than later.


HAAi


The Australian-born London based DJ who broke into the DJ scene through the likes of Rinse FM and Worldwide FM, has now become a well-known name.



From gaining residency on Radio 1’s Essential Mix with her hypnotic sounds to lauded sets, 2020 couldn’t come sooner for the artist.


Fans of Bicep and Denis Sulta are in for a treat.


Joy Crookes


The 21-year-old British singer-songwriter who incorporates her Bangladeshi-Irish heritage in her music has become one of the breakthrough acts of 2020.



Her husky yet elegant voice led to her nomination for the Rising Star Award at the 2020 Brits, but unfortunately lost out to the amazing singer Celeste. However, that hasn’t stopped Joy and in no time, she will be winning awards and gracing our stages.

Biig Piig


The Irish hip-hop singer who is now based in West London has caused waves in the music scene and has become a member of London’s acclaimed NINE8 collective.


She began her career by uploading music to SoundCloud which gained attention through COLORS, from there she signed for RCA Records.


Her music flows from soul to electro through Spanish influence and if you like Jessie Ware or IAMDDB then go and give Biig Piig a listen.


Girl in Red


Norwegian indie pop singer might have been creating music since 2017 but it’s only been the past year, she’s gain attention.



With only a handful of EPs she’s already got over millions and millions of streams and is co-signed by Billie Eilish and The 1975’s Matty Healy. Her dreamy and bedroom pop tells a story and it’s no wonder she’s gaining praise.

YEBBA


Abbey Smith -known as YEBBA- from the United States has already won a Grammy and featured alongside Mark Ronson, Stormzy and Ed Sheeran. But this year is her time.



You might be going down memory lane of your first love through her vocals, but her gospel, jazz voice won’t stop you turning it off.


Fans of Sam Smith and Julia Michaels should give YEBBA a chance.


Allie X


The Canadian singer who began her career as an indie pop in the mid-2000s has now become a pop sensation.


Having already worked with gay icon Troye Sivan and toured with both Marina and Charli XCX, Allie X isn’t afraid to show her true colours as a singer.

L Devine


English born singer and songwriter from Whitley Bay hasn’t been in the music scene that long but has already caused whirlwinds.



“The future of pop” from the words of Charli XCX isn’t scared of showing her true feelings through pop bangers which you can relate to through peer pressure, loneliness and sex.

Beabadoobee


She might be only 19 years old, but the Filipino-British indie singer-songwriter has set her name into the music scene.



From her big hit ‘Coffee’ going viral on TikTok to winning NME Radar Award at the beginning of the year, Beabadoobee has a had a hell of a couple of years. With an album in sight for this year, fans are in for a treat.
