The Fratellis Live From Glasgow

After once again having to postpone their album and tour, Scotland's The Fratellis offered their fans a free livestream gig from a secret location in Glasgow to keep them going through lockdown.

Supported by Milos Collins, this gig was a celebration of The Fratellis' career, with songs from 2006 breakthrough Costello Music all the way through to their upcoming LP Half Drunk Under a Full Moon, set for release in May 2021.

The band opened their set with 'Imposters (Little By Little)', from Eyes Wide Tongue Tied, a fantastic example of their technical mastery. The setlist then jumped back and forward in time as they played early favourite 'Whistle For The Choir', as well as some of the higher-energy tracks from 2018's In Your Own Sweet Time. It was a night of indie nostalgia as well as anticipation for the upcoming album, made all the more sweet by the band livetweeting the gig alongside their fans.

The livestream also gave fans some lovely surprises throughout the night, with the debut of 'Action Replay' from the upcoming album, as well as a few tracks from the lesser-spotted We Need Medicine album. These dynamic tracks were met with particular excitement from fans, who took to Twitter to share memories and interact with the band during the show.

The night ended, as it always does, with a rendition of 'Chelsea Dagger', although this time they opted for an alternate, funkier version of their breakthrough song. This funky reimagining of a classic delighted listeners and ended the night on a high.
