Why You Should Be Listening To...Liberty

Denmark based Liberty saturates 70s rock with the introvert sound of the noughties within his new era of music that sets me out on my feet in a time of chaos.

Formerly known as Mattias Kolstrup, the singer-songwriter has had a plethora of experience after being the lead singer of electro-rock outfit Dúné and is now setting his path of success through the solo career he has started.

Following his debut album Haven't Felt This Great Since 1988, Liberty has taken time to hone his craft the past year and is back with his lead single 'The Last Time' of his upcoming new album Moon Child Set On The Sun.

Through the charisma that possesses him with the flow of his sultry blonde hair, Liberty creates punk-era soundscapes alongside pop electro undertones to take us on a journey of overcoming love and anger. Speaking about the influence of the track, Liberty added: "I went all the way to the Kilimanjaro Mountain in Tanzania-I had to get as far away and as close to the stars as possible. But of course, the further away I went, the more I thought of home and her. When I reached the top, I met a woman - she told me that I was a moon child set on the sun and maybe, for once, I should try to be where I was. Here, now. I needed her advice and, ‘The Last Time’ was written then and there."

From one melody to the next, fans of Troye Sivan and Empire of the Sun will soon be catching onto the joys of Liberty.
