Since embarking onto my MMP Coming Out onto the Field, I have embraced over a series of charities and organisations that are challenging and bringing inclusiveness within the football community.
With only a small-time before my deadline, I thought why not gather up my top five which I believe deserves your attention.
Rainbow Laces
Launched back in 2013 by the LGBTQ+ Equality Charity Stonewall; Rainbow Laces looks to fight homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in sports. In addition, the campaign raises awareness and creates an inclusive space for everyone.
This year, under the experience of COVID-19, Rainbow Laces celebrated the impact that sport has on LGBT people and the impact that LGBT people have on the sport.
The campaign's supported, by TeamPride; a network of brands pledging to making sport everyone's game. In its fifth year of working alongside Rainbow Laces, Team Pride hope to help continue to drive positive change in the sporting world.
Football v Homophobia
Challenges discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression at all levels of football.
As an international initiative - FvH engages in campaigns, education and advice to make football safe and inclusive for LGBT+ people, create opportunities and, improve the visibility of LGBT+.
FvH works all year round, but February is their Month of Action in which ask clubs, fans, football authorities etc. to focus on LGBT+ inclusion.
Stonewall FC
Established back in 1991, London's biggest LGBT+ football team has gone beyond the odds in creating history.
Twenty-seven years later, Stonewall FC field three 11-a-side teams, and have achieved several international tournament successes.
Throughout their journey, the club has continued to create a footballing environment where anyone can feel safe and comfortable.
Outsports
Founded by well-known journalist Cyd Zeigler and Jim Buzinski, Outsports has gone from a little LGBT+ news site to an international phenomenon that covers the world of gay sports, movements, both famous and non-famous LGBT athletes and controversies regarding gays and sports.
Pride Sports
Founded in 2006, Pride Sports was the first and, continuing organisation to challenge homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in sport and improve the access for LGBT+ people.
They aim to educate, campaign for change and actively grow LGBT+ participation and satisfaction in sport.
In addition to running FvH, Pride Sports have a strong international network including the European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation and Fare Network.
